Our Vision

On par Aboriginal service provision that balances sponsor, community, program and client needs and desires. Johnston Research Inc. recognizes the ultimate goal of Aboriginal service provision is to bring Aboriginal people up to general population standards; however program goals are embedded in local context and the vision of community.

Our Mission

Connecting culturally-based knowledge and practices to our evaluation and research services, as appropriate, that operate at a high standard of excellence to meet the needs of sponsors, community, program and clients. Johnston Research Inc. recognizes that western-based programming requires standard evaluation approaches defined by the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES); however culturally-embedded programming requires other considerations.

Contributing to literature around Aboriginal evaluation by developing Aboriginal based evaluation approaches. Johnston Research Inc. recognizes that evaluation practice is ever-evolving and its implementation is heavily influenced by its financial sponsor.

Educating others and sharing knowledge through corporate partnerships and assisting other evaluation teams, in addition to the preparation of both print and digital media that we disseminate directly to Aboriginal programs and communities without a fee.

Our Goal

Our Goal is to critically evaluate organizations and projects that are designed to advance Aboriginal people’s position in Canadian society, and to meet the requirements of sponsors, the needs of Aboriginal community, programs and the people they serve, using Aboriginal-based evaluation methods.
